Scraps from quilt made in Jean Wells workshop on Intuitive Landscape Quilts, 9/2010. Quilt still in progress. Center ditch quilted with Madeira monopoly, and border quilted with Invisifil. Wool batting.
Invisifil is a 100 wt poly that comes in dozens of colors, It is heat resistant and strong for wt. It is a product of Wonderfil. I like it because it is nearly invisible, and all one sees is the texture of the quilting. I use it with a 60/8 Microtex needle. I also use a fine bobbin thread, which matches the top. It was first noticed in this area (Western Washington) by the hand applique group. I picked it up to use with machine applique. It works great here too.
I love it! Subtle color of the borders really does the job on framing the square!
ReplyDeleteLoving this quilt. I am partial to wool batting, btw. Who makes Invisifil? Haven't heard of it.
ReplyDeletei love this!
