The Rebels Celebrate Corduroy Appreciation Day!

The Rebels challenged themselves to use this corduroy in a quilt.
Here are some of the items they made!
Buffy made Chinese Coins.

Dawn made this bag.

And it's reversible!
Roberta, perhaps the most rebellious of all, made this INSTEAD of  doing her gardening.  She calls it "Rebel in Fall."
There's the challenge fabric, hidden in the leaves she was SUPPOSED to be raking.

Cindy was on the road, so didn't get the challenge piece, but she made this from a thrift store find and a pair of her husband's jeans.


Our brand new member, Pam, got into the spirit too!

She even included a zipper!


Buffy is our fearless leader when it comes to corduroy!  She made this quilt several years ago in a class with Gwen Marston.

    What a wonderful show! I love how each one you used that ugly corduroy, which I think was a great stating point in different ways.
    Buffy's Chinese coins is spectacular. Dawn's reversible bag is clever. It is gong to be handy hauling those thrift market finds!
    Cindy's quilt is beautiful and are those worms in Roberta's garden patch?
    Pam's quilt is exciting too!

    I always love seeing a challenge where everyone has the same fabric and all use it in such different ways!! And they're all wonderful!! Buffy's quilts are amazing, thanks for sharing them too!!

    What eye candy! I love the quilts. One of Buffy's really grabbed my attention and I want to try to make one from cotton solids. :)

    Re Roberta's quilt: I think the long beads were weeds. The "worms" are the ties, but that fits too.
    Re: Chinese coins: hand quilted while I listened to Lives of the Famous Greeks by Rufus Fears from the Learning Company. A great listen, but sad, because it is all about war. We haven't learned anything in 3-4 thousand years.
