Process:
First I strip pieced 2 1/2 in strips of batik, then quilted on the longarm using thin flannel as batt and a flower/leaf design. I then zig zagged fibers on each seam line. I made some of the fibers using decorative threads, ribbon floss, and yarns. After each fiber was sewn on I used that fiber to crochet 2 inches of lace at the bottom and on the 2 sides. I then stitched the coat according to the Lynda McPhee pattern (2 seams). I beaded the back seam line with leaf beads (small and large) and am now in the process of beading each of the strips with similar color beads as the center of each flower and seed beads on part of the stems and leaves.
