Input please!

Hi Rebels and friends,

I've been playing with my scrap bin, cutting 5-sided pieces for centers (thanks to Victoria, Roberta and Diane), and pulling scraps randomly. These are 12" blocks. I love crazy quilts, and am thinking of making a bed-size one.

Am I getting too crazy here? Do I need more solids or contrast or anything? I probably won't do flowers for all the centers. That could get too sweet, but it sure is tempting.

What do you think? Can I trust the scrap bin? Or should I edit a bit?

Please be honest. These are only trial blocks, and I had my fun making them.

Thanks!

  1. Nifty!
Wow!! Wow! This looks great! I was just playing with my scraps too and about to put something up on the blog here and saw your post. I love them.
I am wondering about the same question and decided to take a break. I am leaning towards adding solids. I already have some solids in the patches from my recent project. I guess having them side by side should give us both some visual and help us decide.

  3. It's great as a small 4 quadrant quilt.
How about a change of scale?
    Trust the scraps.

  6. Resist the urge to over-think it. I agree with the comments above: you'll like it better as it gets bigger, and trust the scraps. You are on a roll, that's for sure. I love it.
