We stopped across the street from the fair grounds at the Trains. Fabrics, etc. tent. This is a good source of vintage fabrics. I got the planes and sailboat fat quarter, and 3 3/4 yds of the ugly Alexander Henry Hawaiian. They are shown here with some of my Hawaiian stash. The large piece is outrageous, but I love the orange-red.
You two always find very interesting fabrics! I love them all! Can't wait to see them cut up and pieced!
ReplyDeleteHow was the sew expo?
We had a fine time at EXPO. I was able to baby sit the QA guild raffle quilt much of the time. Saved me from myself and the countless vendors, except for the tent vendor across the street. I did pick up the usual bag of Superior Threads on sale. I also discovered Wonderfil Specialty Threads, based in Calgary, Alberta. My applique friends have been raving about their 100 wt, matt finish two-ply soft poly for some time now. I bought an assortment of their different products, and am about to try them. Report to follow as soon as I do. If they work as well as advertised, I'm going to try to get a couple of our local shops to stock them. Would like to have samples of the threads in my work to show shops. www.wonderfil.net Their Invisifil should be great for machine applique.
ReplyDeleteHmmm.. I can not wait to hear about your experience on working with them! More later!
