  3. The first quilt with the green and black I bought at Paducah for $300 about 2003. It is my favorite antique quilt! (I did not have three hundred dollars so I agreed to do a commission quilt to pay for this antique treasure.) The only thing the dealer could tell me was that she got it in Bardstown, KY so I named it Bardstown Beauty. I believe the quilt is hand dyed because two of the blocks contain cordury pieces that are exactly the same color as the other muslin pieces. Also I located a whole cotton seed (by feel) in the batting which leads me to think it was a homemade batting. The back is a dark periwinkle blue hand dyed muslin that adds another pleasing note to the whole. It is signed in yellow embroidery thread "Hymen". The pattern was one printed on the Mountain Mist wrappers that Lorene had in her collection and gave to me once we found this quilt.

Also, I am the person on the right! Paula M
